Pros ----- It looks nice and the kids like it. The face is made of a sheet of wood. The clock mechanism is has a small plastic housing in the back, the cover slides off, if you need to get to the moving parts for some reason.. Cons ---- 1. It needs the weight to fall to keep the clock running.. The chain underneath the clock is fairly long about 4-5 feet, and the weight does drop this much during 24 hours of running so you will need a lot of space under the clock. Also since the chain drops quite close to the floor, this was a problem for us, as we have small toddlers at home, and they would love to take down the "owl tick-tock". 2. The pendulum doesn't come adjusted from the factory, and I needed to adjust it by moving it up and down, before it started to keep time accurately. this will take atleast a day or two to get it...Read more |
