The first time I saw this clock, it was in a picture of a trendy coffee shop. I fell for it BIG TIME, and when I sleuthed around and found out it was a Howard Miller clock, I decided I had to have it--and besides, it would be a good investment. The suggested retail at that time (when gallery-sized clocks were first getting hot) was $300. When I found it for $180, I jumped on it. That's about when my love affair with this clock ended and the heart-ache began. I collect cheap clocks I find at thrift stores, fixing them up to join a grouping above my kitchen cabinets. This is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. I cannot believe Howard Miller puts their name on this. The clock mechanism is made of chinsy plastic. The hour and minute hands are made of a meterial thinner than tin foil and bend when you move them to set the time. They are held to the clock by a screw that I don't even think is connected to the time mechanism. If you don't tighten the screw, both hands "float" to the bottom of the clock. If you tighten them just enough to hold them from floating, they do not move with the passing of time.

This is quite a shame that something so pretty is such a piece of junk. Love the look of the clock - but what good is it if it doesn't work! Am appalled that they charge $200 for this junk!
