The current production of 625-381 clocks have a dial that is not white but it has more of an antique white with a slightly yellowish-greenish cast. The oil-rubbed bronze front does not wrap around to the back so if you mount it on a surface that can be viewed in multiple directions, you will see the bronze ring that transitions at the side to the black plastic base. On the plus side, it is a very nice looking clock and it operates quietly, with a pleasant sound as the seconds hand moves. The mounting is very solid, using 3 screws maximum. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By chas (Asturias & Chicago area) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Howard Miller 625-381 Virgo Wall Clock by (Kitchen) We returned the clock due to its very cloud ticking. It is attractive, though a bit over-priced compared to other similar clocks. There is no economic reason at this point not to use silent 'sweep' mechanisms as they are no longer more expensive than the non-sweep mechanisms. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Howard Miller 625-381 Virgo Wall Clock by (Kitchen) We had a cheap plastic clock in our bathroom and when we updated and changed to oil rubbed bronze fixtures, it had to go. I had seen a few oil rubbed bronze wall clocks but they were awfully expensive. Was glad to find this Howard Miller clock at such a good price. It looks fantastic in our newly remodeled bathroom.
It's a bit noisy and the bath is open to the master bedroom so I could hear it at night. We got some stick on rubber pads at Home Depot and stuck 3 on the back of the clock--ticking problem solved. |
