I got this for my brother for Christmas, b/c he likes wrought iron stuff. This is at best wrought-iron-esque. Maybe technically the frame is wrought, but it's basically just more made-in-China junk. It's black with a dry-brushed bronze faux patina. The movement is one of those basic, single AA battery-powered units you can get in any craft store for $5. It sat in my room unopened for months while I kept forgetting to return it. Finally, I decided it was too late and I opened it for use in my own room. That's when I discovered that you need a _second_ battery just to make the pendulum swing! Rather than waste the second battery, I keep it resting on top of the clock movement and just plug it in for special occasions. I will concede that from a distance, it does look authentic and charming (if it fits into your decor properly), so if you're only concerned with appearances and not quality, just make sure it's hung somewhere that avoids too close of an inspection, like the far corner of a...Read more
