I love my new clock. The Cherry wood matches my furniture perfectly. The reeded columns and brass capitals really stand out. The only negative would be the backing panel which is mdf veneered with Cherry to match. (you can only see the the mdf from the back when the clock is off he wall). The pictures on the net don't do the clock any justice. The front door opens to reveal the back side of the quartz movement for easy access to the batteries. (use Duracell C only, no other brands because of the fit of the battery holders) The clock face is attached to the door. I originally wanted a weight driven or spring driven movement but the more I thoght about it, the more Quartz makes more sense, because you risk damage every time you open the door to wind it. The oil from your hands will also corrode the brass weights and chains. Quarts movements can be replaced very easily if they die while mechanical movements require the correct size and type at much higher costs. Al together, I really...Read more
