Amazon's brief description of this lamp is correct. Lamps Plus is not. As I found it, this lamp had a dimmer feature at one time. It no longer does. I called Lamps Plus customer service and was given the "apology" speech and told me they were in the process of updating their website specs. I was offered a dimmer switch at a discounted price. I ended up getting it for free.
Now about this lamp. It is very heavy and nice and classy to look at. The quality of the mission style lamp shows as I proudly display it in my home. The lowest lamp height measures 45.5 inches from the base to base of lamp glass. Uses four 60 watt bulbs (not included) which are too bright at times. A dimmer is a must for me. Paid $199.00 during the January sale. I would have given 5 stars if it came with a dimmer feature.

I use the compact fluorescent bulbs in this -- 100W-equivalent -- and it's superb! It produces a huge amount of light without being at all glare-y. It's solid and stable - and lovely looking. Interestingly, if you put the cool blue-ish CFCs in it, it's a cold-looking lamp (which I much prefer) but if you put the warmer bulbs, it looks quite warm (which my husband prefers). I've always disliked CFCsc cause they're too dim for old eyes to read by, but with this lamp and its four bulbs, it works great as a chair-side or couch-side lamp!

It fits beautifully into an Arts and Crafts 'flavored' room, or a regular home-style room. I'm trying to get my 86-yr-old mother to buy one, so she can see to read in her living room without using a high-intensity (hot!) lamp. Very highly recommended. (I've had it about 3 years, still solid as all-get-out!)

I saw many lamps look nice but doesn't provide enough source of light. I need something looks nice and light up my living room. This lamp is exactly what I am looking for. I can read and my son can see his music piece clearly when practicing piano.
