I bought this as a gift for my mom and stepfather. They absolutely love it. It looks beautiful on the wall. You can tailor the chimes to however you desire including turning them off. Very nice clock for a value price.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice Seiko clock!, February 20, 2007

This is our first battery powered pendulum clock, replacing our last key wind model that died recently. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pendulum doesn't make a "tick ... tock" sound, it's totally silent. I think that sound is part of the pendulum clock "experience" after many years of owning one. The "tick ... tock" noise must be a feature of manually winding clocks. Oh well, it's still a very nice, solidly made clock that keeps great time and has pretty chimes. Love the volume control.

This review is from: Seiko QXH110BLH Dark Brown Oak Case Westminster/Whittington Quarter-Hour Chime and Hourly Strike Pendulum Wall Clock (Kitchen)
This is my 90 year old mother's second Seiko clock like this. My thought is that she had the first one since it first came out. Anyway, through kids, grandkids, great grandkids, moving a couple of times and having it fixed once, it finally quit. We tried some others and she kept saying, "Well, if I could just get one like the last one I had...".
So, I found it on Amazon.com and voila - she's a happy woman. That's all I care about.
