I bought this for my sister, who is a flight attendant who needs to be able to wake up on time in different cities of the world every week. Since I was present when she opened her present she let me have a go at setting it up. I was able to set the date and time without consulting the manual; just press the 'Set' button, and then use the + and - buttons to change the values. I was momentarily stumped as to how to set the alarm, but found that just pressing + and - without first pressing set changed the alarm time.
We tested the alarm volume, and found that the beeping seemed loud enough to wake her. The beeping increases in tempo the longer that it goes on without being canceled, so that helps. A really, really heavy sleeper might need a louder alarm, but for her it seems adequate.
One thing that I was concerned about was whether the buttons would get pressed during transit and change the time. It turns out that there is a slide switch on the back to lock...Read more

This could have been 5 stars were it not for alarm interface.
I travel on a weekly basis. The easy to change time zone feature is great. The problem is as you change time zones the alarm automatically changes
as well. i.e. If you go from NY to LAX and your alarm was set to 0600 wake up; as you set to LA time your alarm auto defaults to 0300. So you have to go in and manually change alarm to your normal wake up hour. Completely defeats the purpose of a quick and easy time zone change feature.
Normal clocks the alarm stays where you put it and you have to manually adjust the time zone. This one the time zone changes quickly and easily but you have to go back and change the alarm every time. Don't buy it.

I received this alarm for free with my Seiko watch.
Seeing the price ($30+) I can only say that it's an alarm clock.
It feels very cheap and I would have never spend that kind of money on this ...
Otherwise; it does exactly what it says it does ... it's a compact travel alarm clock.
p.s.: I noticed in the tag suggestions the phrase "atomic clock" - now maybe I didn't read the manual properly, but as far as I know it simply does not have this feature.
