This review is from: Sharp 14 Inch Atomic Wall Clock (Kitchen) Unlike most atomic clocks, this one made by Sharp not only shows analog time, but also month, date, and day on its digital LCD. It is very easy to setup - just put in two AA batteries (do not use rechargeables) and place the clock near a window so that it can receive time signal more easily. You can move it to other locations after time synchronization, but if the clock cannot sufficiently receive signals continuously, it will eventually lose its accuracy. You can check signal strength which shows from one bar to four bars on the LCD. Being an atomic clock, the accuracy is within 1 second in a year! It also automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time forward and backward. I love this clock and recommend it highly. 24 of 27 people found the following review helpful: By candygirl (Silicon Valley, Ca) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sharp 14 Inch Atomic Wall Clock (Kitchen) I had an atomic clock for 20 years that just decided to stop being accurate..so I read the reviews of others at amazon and chose the 14" sharp. It took 36 hours to set itself and has been perfect since. My only 2 issues with this clock are that the hands are not solid black, they are split apart and joined at the ends again which makes it very hard to see the time from a distance even though this is a pretty large size clock. The other is, in dimmer light, the day/date box becomes a solid dark area ( it does not light up) so you can not see where the hands are from the 25 after to the 25 to the hour. This would not be the case if the hands had been solid black..so I took one star off for each problem. In a well lit, short distance area it would be ideal. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Bud Ryerson (San Francisco) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sharp 14 Inch Atomic Wall Clock (Kitchen) We plugged in the batteries and within an hour it had synchronized itself. It is such a comfort to know that at least one clock in our home will always have the correct time. Our last clock was a Howard Miller and you could hear it ticking from across the room. This clock is very quiet. It looks good and is easy to read, even from a distance. |
